Project Inspire - 1 year teacher residency

The 2017-2018 school year is my 6th year teaching.

Residency year at Tyner Middle Academy teaching 8th grade science

4 years at Hixson High School in Hamilton County teaching Chemistry, Physical Science, Genetics, Robotics, Environmental Science and Physical World Concepts

1 year at RHS teaching Honors/CP Anatomy & Physiology and Chemistry

I was born and raised in Michigan.  I moved to the Chattanooga area in 2001 to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy.  While finishing up my requirements for the program I worked in a Physical Therapy outpatient clinic for nearly 9 years.  (I took the long, slow path)  Long story short, I ended up changing gears and decided to pursue an education degree instead.  I finished my bachelors in Biology from DSC in 2011 and my Masters in Secondary Education from UT in 2012 while completing a teacher residency program.  I worked at Hixson HS for 4 years teaching various science classes and then I was blessed with my dream job here at Ringgold HS teaching anatomy and physiology and chemistry.  The 2017-2018 school year is my second year at RHS.

I am married to a Ringgold native.  We have 2 great danes and reside in Ringgold.
